I’ve been enjoying my work and the people I get to work with since 1994.

It was my mum who first suggested to me when I was 14 that being a television cameraman would probably be an interesting thing to do. As with most things.. she was right.

More by accident than design I seem to have ended up working with a lot of people in the public eye over the last few years.

In 2018 I shot with Sir Michael Palin, Ronnie Wood, Sir Billy Connolly, Keith Richards, Sir Mick Jagger, Helena Bonham Carter, Harriet Walter, Sheridan Smith, Damien Hirst, Jeremy Paxman, Richard E Grant, Micky Flanagan, Richard Hammond and Sir Trevor Mc’Donald.

2018 was a good year.

Being in North Korea with Michael Palin and spending a month with Billy Connolly in Scotland was every bit as good as you probably imagine it to be. I’m on my 5th series with Billy now with a 6th lined up in May.

Last year I also got to work with Mike Figgis, Tim Pope and Mike Newell, three directors with an immense body of work between them.

The North Korea film earned me a BAFTA nomination for factual photography as well as an award for camera excellence from the Guild of Television Camera Professionals. Billy Connolly’s Tracks Across America was nominated for a Grierson Award in the Best Entertainment Documentary category.

Not every shoot I do is with a public figure and I like to think I’m not overly precious about what I shoot, I do care how things are shot though. I love being in the company of people I like and more often than I find that I am.

If you’re on Instagram you’ll find me there as well. The Instagram icon on the left of the page will take you there.
